Proximity payment

With proximity payment, consumers can use contactless cards, stickers applied to the mobile phone or Near Field Communication (NFC) phones to touch the Point-of-Sale for fast and convenient payment. They can consult their wallet balance and transaction history on the PC or on the mobile phone.

Alcatel-Lucent's Mobile Wallet Service (MWS) provides proximity payment services to operators and enterprises using a prepaid Stored Value Account model. This enables Mobile Network Operators (MNO) to deliver proximity payment to their consumers and to enterprise customers, while receiving a transaction fee and strengthening the customer relationship via the wallet offering.

Touchatag facilitates payment ecosystems via extended relationships with the banking world and payment networks. The open architecture and open APIs guarantee a future proof application development environment that allows to easily plug in new services like loyalty and coupon services into the ecosystem.

The Mobile Wallet Service includes:

• Stored Value Account for e-money and sub-accounts for loyalty and coupons
• Mobile and PC access to the wallet for balance check, history, top-up and person to person money transfer
• Payment Gateway as online payment and settlement solution, including direct links to Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club
